Richard and Vicky Wilson, Chairmen![]() Sunday, February 19, 2012 Following Church Services In the Fellowship Hall Find Your Birthday Table, eat, mingle and have fun! We have received correspondence (Jan. 5, 2012) from Pastor Dantous Louis in Haiti thanking us for the money sent which allowed them to kill a cow and serve beef, rice, beans, special macaroni, and juice to 50 people in mission preaching the gospel, in addition to Church members, school children, and school teachers. We have also received correspondence (Jan. 2012) from Sam Muyskens with Global Faith in Action outlining their priorities for 2012 for Haiti: 1) find sponsors for 160 students ($15/month per child-see www.globalfaithinaction.org ); 2) complete the computer technology lab; 3) complete construction of 4 classrooms – will be constructed through the food-for-work program (Numana and Rotary Clubs of Kansas sent 44,000 pounds of food to North Haiti and Pastor Dantous Louis); 4) equip the Lambert Medical Clinic with medicines, microscope, and lab supplies, and pay Dr. Tony $500/month. The Missions committee has scheduled a meeting for Sunday, Jan. 29th at 1:00 pm. We will be discussing: 1. The assignment of Dollars for Missions and Communion offerings 2. Scheduling a birthday dinner fund raiser for a security building in Haiti 3. Haitien choir tour for summer July or August 2012 4. Arranging for the Dana’s house children to visit our Sunday School and Church 5. Coordinating with ICCM re: food needs 6. Arranging for “mission moments” during Church hour to update congregation on Dollars for Missions projects 7. Involving youth in Missions more, sponsoring a Missions trip for youth |
